Christian Discipleship Mentor Centre, Colombo

I am Devseth Fernando, 64, former CEO of a Public Corporation in Sri Lanka. Starting my career as an Engineer and held various positions during my continuous service for 37 years. I have been living a Christian family life with my wife for 31 years; both my daughter and son reside abroad. Furthermore, I have been preaching as a Local Preacher of the Methodist Church for 25 years and have conducted discipleship programs for various Christian groups. As a Credentialed Minister of CLA, I applied to register a soul center for mentoring & training persons for Christian Discipleship.

My walk with God:
I am from a Christian family, and my father was a government teacher and a Local Preacher of the Methodist Church. However, at 26, I had a near-death experience, and I survived by God’s grace. That made me
focus on the Ministry of God. After seven years, in 1991, the Holy Spirit inspired me for His service. 1998 I started my ministerial work as an Accredited Local Preacher of the Methodist Church Sri Lanka. In 2009, I
extended my Bi-vocational Ministerial services to Shalom Prayer Family as a Preacher and a Mentor. Later in 2022, I completed the Bachelor of Divinity degree at Christian Leaders College, USA, and became an ordained Minister of the Word in Christian Leaders Association, USA.

My Dreams of a Soul Center:
I dream of introducing a training & mentor center inviting those interested in following Christian discipleship training. As there are a lot of free online discipleship training programs, we at the soul center are ready to mentor prospective students and assist them in undergoing such courses individually. However, we observed that those who have started such studies based on self-studying have encountered various issues. Hence, we realized the importance of establishing a mentor center to assist such students in continuing their studies without interruption. Initially, we encourage them to follow courses in English, and later we could offer such online CD courses in their native languages where there is a massive demand for CD courses. We believe with the help of the Holy Spirit; we would be able to fulfill the need of disciples of the country at least to a significant level.

Church of the Faithful Redeemer

GETTING TO KNOW US:
We are a group of believers in Christ, in Israel, and immigrants from Sudan. We are from different sects and come together to serve God’s people in the midst of the Sudanese community and beyond.
We believe that all souls have to be connected to the soul center, which is Jesus Christ. We are located in Arad, a small city which is located in the south of Israel, approximately 41 kilometers from the Dead Sea and 46 kilometers from Beer Sheba state.

How did we get into Israel?
At the beginning of 2007 to 2008, a large group of African immigrants and other nationalities entered Israel, and we were among them as Sudanese Christian community. In the beginning of our entry into Israel, the Catholic Church and the Messianic Jewish helped us spiritually and morally. But because of the different religions, world freedom and cultural diversity in Israel, we as Sudanese Christian community in Arad, saw that we must preserve the Christian faith by teaching the new generation to preserve the true Christian faith, as the Bible said in the Epistle of the Apostle Paul to 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God. And useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16). Based on that, we have formed a group of believers led by the servant of the Lord, Samer Suleiman Kuku, a graduate of a bachelor of Divinity degree at Christian Leaders College; Licensed Ministry Officiant, Licensed Christian Officiant and Licensed Wedding Officiant at Christian Alliance, alongside with his wife, Mason Wilson Tutu, in addition to the administration board, which consists of Elders: General Secretary: Financial Secretary: Head of the women’s ministry, and the worship leader, in the Church of the Faithful Redeemer; (Center for Redeemed Souls) we all work together for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our vision ;
Our vision is to preserve faith and to proclaim the good news to people in the community and those around us. And to keep the light of Christ shine in this reflective world, for those who are pursuing, seeking, and wondering whether there is life after death? That they may find the answers to their questions,
Jesus said in John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Our Calling to this Soul Center
The call to this Soul Center came after the leader of the Faithful Redeemer graduated Bachelor of Divinity degree at Christian Leaders College and been Licensed Christian Officiant, Licensed Ministry Officiant at Christian Leaders Alliance, we saw it is the right time to be part of the souls connection worldwide. We have these desire to accomplish the great commission of Jesus Christ, in Matthew 28:19’20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:20 teaches them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
We are grateful that the Christian Leaders Alliance has equipped Samer Suliman kuku with knowledge to minister at this Church Soul Center of Faithful Redeemer.

SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED

In a world marked by uncertainty, division, and adversity, there exists a profound longing for hope, healing, and community. It is within this backdrop that my heartfelt desire to build a Soul Center has taken root—a vision that encompasses a community-centered discipleship outreach center aimed at empowering underprivileged individuals who have been abused by society in various aspects. Additionally, the Soul Center will be named as SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED, a sanctuary where fellowships can flourish, offering encouragement to missionaries and providing a welcoming space for those on a quest to know Jesus.

The Vision

The vision of SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED, is one that is deeply rooted in faith, compassion, and a commitment to uplifting those who have been marginalized and harmed by societal injustices.

The driving force behind this endeavor lies in the belief that every individual, regardless of their past or present circumstances, possesses the potential for transformation and redemption.

Empowering the Underprivileged

At the heart of SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED’s mission is the outreach to underprivileged individuals who have endured the wounds inflicted by society.

These individuals may have faced abuse, discrimination, poverty, or other forms of marginalization. The center’s aim is to provide them with a haven of support, a place where they can heal, grow, and rediscover their sense of worth.

Through carefully designed programs and counseling services, the Soul Center will offer not only material assistance but also emotional and spiritual guidance.

It is the place where the broken will find restoration, the oppressed will find justice, and the discouraged will find hope.

Creating a Healing Environment

Building a safe and nurturing environment is paramount to the SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED. It will be a place where individuals feel heard, valued, and respected.

The center will employ trained counselors, mentors, and volunteers who understand the unique challenges faced by the underprivileged and can provide the care and attention required for healing.

Fellowship and Encouragement for Missionaries

In addition to its focus on the underprivileged, the Soul Center will extend its arms to missionaries seeking encouragement and spiritual support.

Missionary work is often filled with challenges and sacrifices, and these dedicated individuals need a place where they can find rest, rejuvenation, and the camaraderie of like-minded individuals.

The center will serve as a hub for missionary fellowship, nurturing their spirits and providing them with the strength to continue their vital work.

Sharing the Message of Jesus

Central to SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED’s mission is the sharing of the message of Jesus Christ.

It is a place where individuals, whether they are long-time believers or spiritual seekers, can engage in discussions, attend Bible studies, and explore their faith.

The center will serve as a beacon of God’s love and grace, inviting all who enter to discover the transformative power of faith.

A Beacon of Hope

SOUL’D OUT FOR JESUS MINISTRIES INCORPORATED represents a beacon of hope in a world often plagued by despair and inequality. It is a place where faith is nurtured, hearts are healed, and community is embraced.

This endeavor is not merely a building; it is a testament to the enduring power of compassion, faith, and the belief that together, we can make a difference.

The ministry aspires to become a symbol of love and solidarity, a place where the broken are made whole, where the discouraged find strength, and where the lost discover their way.

It is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the boundless potential of the human spirit.

The Boatman Ministry

The Boatman Ministry (TBM) is led by credentialed Licensed Minister Brandon Pek (assisted by his wife Jean) in Singapore, with the following stated objectives:

• To be that vessel from which the Word of God is shared and taught, bringing the spiritual nourishment to wherever the Word reaches.

• To encourage and challenge those in fellowship to have a personal and intimate walk with God, and a Christ-centred testimony of their lives.

• To provide faith-based guidance in one-on-one or small group coaching, helping them move forward in their calling and spiritual dreams.

• To facilitate opportunities for sowing of Kingdom seeds through charitable and mercy projects, and other forms of contributions.

Ministerial Services

Brandon, also credentialed as Coach Minister and Ministry Chaplain, is bi-vocational to support TBM in its mission to inspire, influence and impact lives for Christ. Ministerial Offerings are as follow:

• Small group fellowship with focus on prayer and thanksgiving, bible reading and discussion, and the ministry of encouragement.

• Faith-based guidance through life coaching in personal mission / direction, pre-marital and marriage, and parenting skills.

• Officiant and chaplain services, outreach, charitable and mercy projects in collaboration with ministry and project partners.

• Hospitality ministry to reach out to extended family who have yet to hear, believe and receive the saving knowledge and grace of God.

Getting to Know Us

Brandon and Jean Pek are married since 1994 and have two adult children. In TBM, he will be assisted by his wife Jean in the areas of hospitality ministry and couples’ fellowship and coaching (pre-marital, marriage and parenting skills), and ministers in the marketplace/workplace as the Lord assigns. As a family, they have participated in charitable and mercy projects and continue to look for joint-ministry opportunities.

In 2021, Brandon enrolled at Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) to begin his ministry training. Having completed the Christian Ministry Diploma and credentialed Minister training in 2023, he plans to continue his CLI education for the Diploma of Divinity and seek to be credentialed as an Ordained Minister as the Lord grows the ministry that He placed in his heart.

Coming to Christ

Brandon was born into a non-believing family but was curious about Christianity from a very young age. In his teenage years, he had encountered Christianity in several forms – through end-of-the-world preaching, strange deviant doctrines, over-zealous student evangelist who called him “names”. From innocent curiosity, he turned indifferent until his university days when he was confronted with deeply spiritual issues that rekindled his search for God.

During that period, the Lord placed a few Christian friends who introduced Brandon to their faith, and He led him through several spiritual experiences and encounters that changed his life. In 1989 at age 22, he received Jesus as Savior and Lord. That was the beginning of the blessed life, with joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.

Confirming His Call to Ministry

Brandon got married in 1994. After initially hosting the church’s home cell meetings with his wife Jean, they devoted their walk in raising the children as well as ministering in the marketplace / workplace. Fast forward to 2019, Brandon took a step away from his corporate career for a personal sabbatical, planning to return strongly for a final push to the pinnacle before he retires.

However, God had another plan for him and spoke through a local bible teacher that He will restore him to where he should be, and not where he was. Over the next 4 years, as he sought clarity in prayers, the Lord remained silent concerning the time and timing, and the nature of the restoration. There were faith struggles over the “stalled” career during those years, declining savings with no income, and His silence.

Thankfully, God had provided from past financial harvests and he was able to still minister through the pandemic years and the recovery phase in His “field assignments” which included evangelism, charitable and mercy work, and life coaching / facilitating in the men’s ministry. The Lord gave him the joy and peace in His service, and began to confirm His calling in the following ways during the closing months of 2023:

• Fruits of the gospel and salvation over the “silent” 4 years ministering to family and friends.

• Affirmations / endorsements from ministry leader and fellow believers in marketplace ministry.

• Timely review of his CLI journey and completion of milestone education and ministry training.

Souls Involved – 25 to 50 in several ministry areas
